Welcome to Wyoming’s Connecting to Collections Blog! To continue a dialogue about the needs and questions facing Wyoming cultural institutions, we are starting a weekly Blog – to explore a variety of museum and library collections issues. We would like to create a forum for asking questions, exploring online resources, and discussing techniques among Wyoming museum and library colleagues.
For weekly topics, we will include many of the issues discussed at the 2009 “Connecting to Collections” symposia. Possible topics include disaster planning, collections funding opportunities, educating museum staff and board members, and museum numbering systems. We welcome topic ideas from any of you as well!
To start a discussion, I’d like to ask:
What works well in your institution?
What program, system, department, facility, staff member, tool, etc helps keep your institution running smoothly?
As we examine issues and needs, it helps to remember what’s already working well! Please leave your ideas and comments, and feel free to forward this post on to other colleagues who may be interested.
Wow! This is fun to be able to talk to the collections people in our state.
What works well? the great people we have here at the BBHC.
I thank heavens every day for an IT staff.

Howdy there! I’m in Montana but we have many of the same challenges up here in the Treasure State that you folks in WY have so I’m just going to horn in on this discussion.
